Head ChairDistinguished delegates and honored guests,
I am Nemo, a grade 10 student attending Northbridge International School of Cambodia and it is my privilege to welcome you to the 2024 SEAME&I Model United Nations conference as the Head Chair of GA3. Our first agenda item delves into the urgency of combating the spread of infectious diseases in the country of origin. The ongoing global health crisis has highlighted the imperative for international cooperation in the face of shared threats to public health. Equally significant is the exploration of measures to protect gender identity and transgender rights, a vital pursuit in fostering inclusivity and equality. These discussions will undoubtedly be nuanced and may encounter obstacles, but I encourage each delegate to approach these topics with an open mind. In line with this year's theme, “Truth and Reconciliation for an Equitable Future”, let us strive for a fruitful and engaging debate. Go delegates! |

My name is Haram Lee, a sophomore at Hope International School and I would like to give a warm welcome to the delegates of GA3 of the 2024 SEAME&I Regional Model United Nations Conference. In this committee, delegates will debate upon combating the Spread of Infectious Diseases in the Country of Origin and Protecting Gender Identity and Transgender Rights, two pressing questions concerning a range of social, humanitarian affairs and human rights issues that have proven to show deep relevance with all countries around the world. As the Deputy Chair of GA3, I’ll make sure to lead the engaging conference within the two issues presented to you GA3 delegates. I am looking forward to seeing all delegates collaborate, negotiate, and debate in order to create two effective resolutions that all delegates have contributed to. I wish for a productive debate and for you delegates to make many new memories throughout this conference! (Please don’t hesitate to email me at any time: haram.lee@students.hope.edu.kh)

Personally, MUN has been a life-changing experience because it has provided me with tons of opportunities for growing as an individual and the ability to interact with people from all backgrounds. Whilst I felt nervous in the beginning, my first MUN experience turned out to be an amazing and delightful experience. As I am stepping into the role of assistant chair for the first time, I am committed to assisting all delegates and providing support for a fruitful debate. I am committed to assisting all delegates, fostering a collaborative environment, and steering our discussions toward fruitful debates. I'm very enthusiastic about this opportunity to meet each one of you and collectively contribute to the success of this conference. |
