Greetings delegate! My name is Tehsin and I will be serving as the head chair for this year's Human Rights Council. I have been a part of the Model United Nations community for approximately four years now; has delegated for 8 conferences, chaired for 5, and has also been a secretariat member for 4. The November iteration of NISCMUN will mark my 17th Model United Nations Conference, and my 5th time as a chair.
In terms of NISCMUN, the hybrid format is unusual, unheard of, and in some cases unappealing. The increased accessibility for interested parties allow delegates from all over the world to join in on a weekend filled with debates and fun. Although the feeling of being present at an in-person conference is one of the thrilling reasons for participating in Model UN, the magic and beauty of this extracurricular transcends the online scene as well.
During this unprecedented time, I was granted the opportunity to chair for such an amazing conference. This conference has given me a platform in which I can provide an amazing time to enrich and collaborate with those participating in my respective council. To be able to chair for such a progressive council, I hope to help create an environment in which a delegate may leave with a better mindset, a better outlook on life, and more awareness on the societal issues in our current generation.
Thank you, and I look forward to meeting you all!
